The Cox Development Group announced today that construction at its Gainesville Apartments project, located at 2812 Gainesville St. SE in Southeast Washington, DC, has reached a significant interior milestone. Drywall installation and tilework are now complete throughout the eight-unit affordable housing development.

With interior walls, ceilings, and tiled areas now in place, the project is moving into its finish-work phase. Crews are turning to finish carpentry, including trim, doors, cabinetry, and the other detail work that brings each unit closer to move-in ready condition.

“Seeing the drywall and tile come together is one of the most rewarding stages of a project — it's when the building really starts to feel like home,” said Winston Cox, Founder of the Cox Development Group. “We're moving full speed into finish carpentry, and we're excited to get one step closer to welcoming residents into Gainesville Apartments.”

Gainesville Apartments is one of nine active and completed developments in the Cox Development Group's Washington, DC portfolio, joining recently completed affordable housing projects such as Greenwood Apartments and Foxhall Place Townhomes. The Cox Development Group will continue to share updates on the project's progress as it approaches completion.
